Availability of Medcines (Ho Chi Minh City)

Hi All
I need your help to find out if prescription medicines are available in local pharmacies in HCMC. If the chances are less, I would prefer to bring medicines worth of few months from my home country. My doctor has given me a prescription for 6 months and I should be able to carry them with me, but its a lot.
Can anyone advise me on this please?
