Best way to manage DVD collection in move? (Ho Chi Minh City)

Hi everyone, I was hoping someone could help me figure out that best way to transport my DVD collection to HCMC. I am currently in the US and have about Protected content that I would really like to bring with me when I move. Any thoughts on the best way to do this? Can I just bring a region-free DVD player with me or should I download them all to an external hard-drive. Will have have issues connecting my MACBook to a local TV? Did you expect me to have any problem with customs (like I would in Singapore for Pg13 or R rated movies)?
