Has anyone had problems with Vietnam customs? (Ho Chi Minh City)

Hello,

I am moving to Vietnam very soon , i will ship myself personal things ( clothes, shoes and books) and i was wandering if the customs will charge. I heard other expats were asked to pay too much money to collect their own things. Not sure how to handle it, if there is a way to avoid paying to receive my own things. Any idea or experience you can share?
