Requirements to import a dog (Ho Chi Minh City)

Dear all,

We are planning to move to Vietnam mid august :-)

We wish to bring our dog. We understand he needs to get a health check within 5 days prior to departure, all kinds of vaccinations (rabies) and a proof that he does not have rabies. The latter is our concern. Apparently, for other countries, there are sorts of tests and not every laboratory is accepted. Does anyone know which rules apply for Vietnam?

I tried the Vietnamese embassy in the Netherlands, but they told me to check with KLM. But of coarse KLM is not the source for Vietnam specific rules on things like this.
