Social scene in HCMC (Ho Chi Minh City)

Hi there,

I have been here a couple of months and been happy on my own, having my boyfriend here a couple of weeks etc. Now I need to probably try and be a little social. I want to find some nice quiet bars where I can take a book, get a nice cocktail etc. I really really want to avoid places with the typical western ex pat man with local girl kind of environments and don't want to associate with those types of ex pats at all. So somewhere that has a good mix of people without the cliché situation being in my face.

If anyone has any suggestions for nice quiet bars with good cocktails and maybe a little jazz, would be much appreciated
