Are we having too many fireworks in a year? (Hong Kong)

In recent years, we are having at least 4 times of fireworks in a year in Hong Kong, the New Year, the Chinese New Year, the July 1, the National Day one ... ... are we having too many fireworks ?

These might not have been financed by/fully financed by taxpayers' money (if they were financed partially by the Tourism Board? government money is actually taxpayers' money) ... ... the community activities are stimulants for tourism or for the economy?

What about carbon footprints the fireworks brought about? Traffic chaos and unncessary carbon footprint? Who actually earned the money paid for the fireworks? Other social costs?

Sometimes I am silly to think, if all countries stop the firework celebration for the New Year just one time and use the money to aid the humanitarian organizations ... ... if all Chinese communities / cities stop the firework celebration for the Lunar New Year just one time and pay the money respectively to charities ... ... not necessarily all the time but just once in a while as a sign ... ...

If you can make the decision to cut the number of times of firework, what do you think?
