One Day Youth Mediation Workshop - 23 December 13 (Hong Kong)
Mediation is regarded as one of the most effective methods for resolving disputes between parties. It is common place for disputes and complaints to arise from students and mediation not only can resolve conflicts from these parties but can also foster the better relationships to create a harmonious learning environment between students to parents and teachers.
HKEMC Background
Since our inception in Protected content , HKEMC has provided, assisted and promoted professional mediation services. HKEMC has conducted mediation for over Protected content covering over 2,000 hours. HKEMC also provides training services for individual parties who are interested in gaining knowledge about dispute resolutions. I am confident that our programme will best suit the needs of your children and help them to gain a better understanding of mediation. We are honored to have the opportunity to invite all the parents to have their children to participate in our one day HKEMC Youth Mediation Certificate Programme.
Aim of the Course
Our course aims at teaching students to make use of mediation skills to put themselves in the position of others, to deal with emotions first then resolve the problem, to compare the best and the worst alternatives and find the best solution to resolve the conflict. Through participating in our specifically designed role-play scenarios, which are highly interactive and interesting, students are given the opportunity to play the roles of mediators, the parties in conflict and the solicitors. In order to achieve the goal of the activity, students must follow the instruction and complete all the missions, utilizing different thinking processes and communication skills to resolve problems. With the professional guidance from our instructor, students can make use of the skills taught and apply to their daily lives.
Mission
- Learn to analyze problems and actively suggest solutions, taking the initiative to better foster and improve the relationships between parents and teachers.
- Learn to think in different perspectives, to make use of more efficient and effective ways and to find the best solution to resolve problems.
- Learn to express themselves more effectively and learn how to be more compassionate and considerate in understanding other’s position and to foster better relationships and improve communication skills.
Details of the Workshop
Our workshop will be conducted by an accredited mediator who has extensive experience in teaching mediation skills for various cases and the workshop will be conducted in Cantonese and English. I am writing to encourage your Federation to circulate this to the parents that are of interest to enrol for their children and take advantage of our youth mediation certificate programme.
