Opening bank a/c in HK (Hong Kong)

I'm having problem opening a bank account in HK.
I arrived this week & only have my Australian passport to provide to the bank. My HK ID will only be issued late in Jan., at this Tate I only have the acknowledgment letter from HK immigration. I also don't have a proof of address yet.

I've tried HSBC & Bank of China (both in the N.T side)...No luck.
Are there any other banks, who would open an account. I really need to do this urgently.

I'd appreciate any guidance..
