Call for Applications for the Position of
Research Assistant (Junior Editor) for the CCPL Student Scholarship Blog
The Centre for Comparative and Public Law (CCPL) ( Protected content ), established in Protected content , is an active research centre of the Faculty of Law of the University of Hong Kong that advances research in Constitutional law, Human Rights, International Law and Public Law generally.
Applications are invited for up to three Research Assistant positions as Junior Editors of the CCPL’s Student Scholarship Blog from 11th January Protected content as soon as possible thereafter until June 30th Protected content . Tasks will include review of student papers; commentary on style, language, grammar and other stylistic aspects; substantive editing of content; tasks that include design, formatting and updating of blog entries; identification of gaps in arguments; and other editing tasks.
The salary offered for this position depends on the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Remote working may be considered but concurrent internships or studies must be disclosed at the time of application. Applicants may be current students in Year 3 or above, or graduates with a law background.
Applicants should have excellent academic qualifications in Law and fluency in written and spoken English and Cantonese. Demonstrated familiarity with legal scholarship, OSCOLA referencing and proficiency with MS Office are all necessary. Previous journal editing experience is highly desired. Applicants should also have the ability to work independently, to conduct research in law and related fields using both electronic and traditional sources, and to engage in intellectual and analytical work of high quality under strict deadlines.
