Treatment of Western children in HK (Hong Kong)

Hello all,

Let me explain my post subject line. We recently spent 10 days in Shanghai & Beijing. We were constantly stared at, photographed (I felt like a movie star), and asked if we would allow our children to be held and photographed. (My children are young and have blond hair). While I understand that it was unusual for many Chinese people to see Western children, and it was done out of kindness and curiosity, it bothered my kids tremendously. (I kept telling my daugher to channel her "inner Hannah Montana", but to no avail.)

We will be moving to HK in December, and I am wondering, will we experience this issue in HK? I'm assuming that because of the large expat population, this should not be a challenge, but I wanted to get your opinions.

Thank you!
