Visa to China (Hong Kong)

Hi,

I have a french passport and an HK identity card.
I wanted to know if, with the HK ID, I still have to provide hotel booking, travel insurance policy, Air ticket way and back to make a new chinese visa.
Also, I would like to have a multiple entry (I had already one but under the statut "business visa"). Is it possible under the "tourist visa" ?
Anyone knows about it ?
