Shell Oil makes ‘toughest job interviews’ list (Houston)
Shell Oil Co., Harris County’s second-largest employer, made the list of companies that give the toughest job interviews, according to Glassdoor.com.
Mountain View, Calif.-based Glassdoor.com, an online job-rating site, just released its list of the Top 25 Most Difficult Companies to Interview, based entirely on experiences from recent job candidates, Forbes reported. The website dug through more than 80,000 interview ratings and reviews shared throughout the past year to uncover the list.
The Netherlands-based energy giant ranked eighth on the list, which looked at interview difficulty and whether individuals considered it a positive or negative interview experience. Sixty-five percent of individuals surveyed considered their interview positive, while 4 percent scored it negative. Overall, it scored a difficulty rating of 3.6 out of 5.
Management and investment consulting firms dominated the list’s top 10, led by McKinsey & Co., The Boston Consulting Group and Oliver Wyman.
Shell Oil, owned by Royal Dutch Shell Plc, employs 10,750 in Harris County.
