Former Iranian ambassador and spokesman for its nuclear negotiations, Seyed Hossein Mousavian, will share his insights into how the Iran nuclear deal was reached. He will also discuss what this means for future relations between the U.S. and Iran. While some U.S. analysts praise the deal, many key members of Congress strongly oppose it. Whereas in Iran, a majority of the public support the agreement. Ambassador Hossein will also address how these negotiations may reflect coming changes and the balance of power in the Middle East.

Ambassador Seyed Hossein Mousavian served as: Spokesman for Iran in its nuclear negotiations with the international community; Iran’s Ambassador to Germany; and Head of the Foreign Relations Committee of Iran’s National Security Council. Currently he is a research scholar at Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. Mousavian’s research focuses on options for resolving the crisis over Iran’s nuclear program through diplomacy and improving U.S.-Iran relations.

Mousavian is the former editor-in-chief of the English-language international newspaper Tehran Times and he is the author of two books: The Iranian Nuclear Crisis: A Memoir and Iran and the United States: An Insider’s View on the Failed Past and the Road to Peace. He earned his PhD in international relations from the University of Kent.
