Title: Assistant to Managing Editor, Latin America
Reports to:Managing Editor, Latin America
Based in: Istanbul
Assistant position description:
The Assistant to the Managing Editor is the main point of contact between field teams in Latin America and Oxford Business Group’s (OBG) editorial office in Istanbul; He/she will assist the Managing Editor with editorial and administrative tasks related to the management of field projects in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Assistant’s key responsibilities:
•Assist Managing Editor with pre-editing transcripts and chapters for OBG reports
•Liaise with analysts before, during and after in-country trips and coordinate copy delivery
•Write summaries on report content for OBG’s website
•Liaise with field teams and travel department to coordinate and schedule analysts and photographer visits
•Fill out and update Google docs spread sheets with relevant production details
•Coordinate with field teams and editorial department to design chapter layouts
Bachelor’s degree; minimum two years’ experience in a research, journalism or editorial position (in English); Knowledge of economic fundamentals strongly preferred; Spanish language a must.
