Bringing in a car from Italy (Istanbul)

Hello. Can anyone tell me what is the law in Istanbul in bringing in a car from Italy. I am being told that we can only have the car in Istanbul for 6 months and then we have to take it out of the country. Is there a tax that we need to pay in order to bring in our car and keep it in country. Is it worth it (car is a Protected content or should we just buy a used car once we move to Istanbul?
