Canımız Sokakta is a part of the global movement that utilizes technology and social media to end harassment and discrimination in public places. We are one of the 50 Hollaback blogs where individuals can map their stories of harassment and gather resources, but we also do much more. Working in both English and Turkish, we are an up and coming NGO that runs campus safety programs in our Canımız Kampüste, community events (such as our screening of Miss Representation and Story Sharing Sessions), and working on surveying and researching with international partners. You might have seen us and our work in Radikal, Cumhuriyet, Hürriyet, Today’s Zaman, Aktüel, Time Out İstanbul, IMC TV, the SES Times, and others.
Canımız Sokakta ( Protected content ) seeks to appoint a Co-Director, who will provide on-the-ground leadership for our awareness programs and trainings. The post-holder will provide strategic direction and planning, will represent the organization in relevant external media and working groups, and will communicate with the wide network of Hollaback branches around the world. They will be expected to advocate for related issues of discrimination and female empowerment. The Co-Director will work directly with the Founder/current Director, who will be working remotely, and our Legal Council for major decision-making and strategizing.
