Decision made: Labrador (Istanbul)

I have finally made a decision last night about getting a dog. Labrador today! But before I go around I need to know where to go look around! The only place I know is near Galata Bridge. Could anyone recommend recommend a better place if possible? Also, are there any pieces of advice about getting a puppy and raising it? I have never owned a dog before. But I watched a few episodes of the dog whisperer, lol!
