Oxford Business Group, a publisher of business intelligence on emerging markets, is expanding its editorial department and hiring several positions. Please see below for position descriptions and how to apply.

WEB EDITOR
The web editor is responsible for handling all of OBG’s economic updates (EUs). These are relatively short pieces, usually around Protected content , that are designed to provide more regular updates on the countries we cover. The web editor oversees the entire production process for EUs, including scheduling, dealing with freelance writers, liaising with field teams, and overseeing copy flow.

Web Editor preferred qualifications:
Native English speaking, writing and reading skills required. Bachelor’s degree; minimum two years’ editing or proofreading experience at a managerial level. Experience in economics, banking and financial journalism is helpful but not required. Foreign language skills, especially French and Spanish, are a plus.

WEB & PRESS ASSISTANT
The Web & Press Assistant is largely responsible for sub-editing Economic Updates (EUs, or online economic analysis content), writing press releases, editing public relations-related announcements and emails, and assisting with other web and marketing tasks as necessary. This position will entail working closely with the company’s editorial, marketing and web-content teams.

Web & Press Assistant preferred qualifications:
Native English speaking, writing and reading skills required. Bachelor’s degree, minimum two years’ sub-editing or proofreading experience also required. Experience in economics, banking and financial journalism, or marketing is preferred. Foreign language skills, especially French and Spanish, are a plus.

SUB-EDITOR
Fact-checks and sub-edits articles, interviews, viewpoints and chapters for Oxford Business Group Reports; implements proofing changes from the deputy chief sub-editor or chief sub-editor; amends/revises copy according to comments and changes from external readers; writes photo captions, headlines and sub-heads for copy.

Sub-Editor preferred qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree; minimum two years’ sub-editing or proofreading experience. Experience in economics, banking and financial journalism is preferred. Foreign language skills, especially French and Spanish, are a plus.
