Intent: The Consulate General in Istanbul is seeking a qualified candidate for an indeterminate position as a Coordinator for Export Development Canada. An eligibility list may be established from this competition for similar or lower level positions within the Embassy or Consulate General on an emergency, term or indeterminate basis.
Employment Period: Indeterminate
Area of Selection: This external competition is open to all persons resident and legally authorized to work in Turkey at the time of application, including Embassy or Consulate General emergency employees and spouses of Canada-based staff. The Canadian Government does not sponsor candidates to obtain work authorization. In order to be eligible, applicants must meet all of the essential qualifications. Summary of Duties:
Under the general supervision of the EDC Canada-Based Chief Representative; Act as an experienced coordinator and provide information, technical, logistical and administrative support for EDC’s in-market activities, in support of EDC’s foreign strategy in the region; Use a comprehensive knowledge of office practices and procedures to provide effective Relationship Management activities; Apply precedent or modify established methods and procedures in order to provide effective and independent project management and support for EDC's International Business mission critical tasks (Business Development, Account Management, Transaction Facilitation, and Corporate Development); Apply a comprehensive knowledge of EDC’s mandate and the mission critical tasks of the International Business Development Group (IBDG) in the provision of Market Intelligence; Apply a comprehensive knowledge of office practices and procedures to provide EDC’s Foreign Representation administrative support; Act as a translator.

Essential Qualifications
Applicants must clearly demonstrate on their application that they meet all of the essential qualifications.
1. Language: Fluency in Turkish and English, both written and oral.

2. Education: University degree or equivalent with a combination of education, training and relevant experience

3. Work Experience:
Minimum of Protected content recent and relevant administrative experience, including processing expenses and budget management, in an office environment
Experience in project planning and coordination
Experience in customer relationship building
Research experience
Asset Qualifications
Fluency in French
Experience in a financial institution
University degree in Business or Commerce

Conditions of Employment:
The hiring or appointment of the successful candidate will be subject to Reliability Clearance (RC) obtained by the Management and Security sections of the Canadian Embassy in Ankara.
Please note that reliability status must be maintained throughout your employment at the Consulate General, as failure to do so may result in dismissal.
