Is hijab an obstacle to working? (Istanbul)
Hi everyone! I may be moving to Istanbul soon and will probably be interested in working at some point. I'm a Muslim woman and cover my hair. I used to live and teach English in Saudi Arabia, and I never had a problem with hijab there for obvious reasons. LOL I know the situation is different in Turkey, however, and that hijab was banned in public institutions until very recently. Is it acceptable for private employers if their employees wear hijab? If I apply for jobs, will I face discrimination based on this? I'd appreciate some insight from people who know what the job market is there. Thank you!
