My coming trip to Istanbul (from May 21 to May 27)

Hello dear members!
I will be traveling to Istanbul (European side) from May 21 to 27, and i'm so enthusiastic about it ;)

I'm still searching for a self catering apartment to rent in (European side).
I need your advice as i heard that are happening sometimes manifestations around Taksim-Beyoglu not safe area to rent, is this right?
So In which safe areas i need to focus my search for apartment?
