Post-Coup Climate (Istanbul)

Hello all,
I am an American thinking about moving from the US to Eskisehir for the Fall/Winter and I am hoping to get some input from those of you who live there about the situation post-coup-attempt. What are your thoughts on this? How shaky is the political climate? Is there any sort of possibility the airports could get shut down for long periods of time or make it difficult for Americans to leave of their own free will or travel safely within Turkey?

I hope I don't seem ignorant, I just want to educate myself about the situation from an internal perspective.
