Shopping Local - any advice? (Istanbul)

Hi,
Can someone recommend a shopping place in Istanbul with good quality local stuff, not extremely expansive?
Due to travels & lack of time, I will have to do all my X-mas shopping this week and I would like to buy gifts to my friends and family in Europe, which would support small local businesses - artists, craftsmen, designers etc.
I don't prefer to buy from big shopping malls, because most of the shops there are international chains and same things can be found anywhere.
