Visa (Istanbul)

My Visa expires on 21st of May. It's the first time that I'm doing a Visa Run. Any suggestions? I thought it might be better to fly into the UK, stay a week, and return. I've heard many things...Turkey is no longer allowing people to return until after Protected content can still leave and then return for a new 90 day stamp. I'm not sure what is accurate. I would hate to leave and not be able to return for my things. Any updates?
