Where to find discount travel, flights, hotels,etc (Istanbul)

One of the things I am finding really hard living in Turkey is being unable to confidently do normal easy things that I was good at in the US like booking great travel deals. In US I have always been very good at finding great deals at 4 star hotels, excellent flight deals, car rentals, etc. It is hard not being able to do these things easily for myself now.

Are there any great websites for these type things? And is it cheaper to use websites outside of Turkey? A few years ago we lived in the UK and we took a cruise from Italy. We compared prices from the UK, Turkey and US and the US price was a lot cheaper, then Turkey then UK.

Any travel websites would be great. It is okay if they are not in English.
