Womb Tomb is a cutting-edge theatre project based on an original reinterpretation of the millenary myth and tragedy of Oedipus.
Thanks to the coming together of a heterogeneous group of artists and actors with different cultural backgrounds, and an intense, critical confrontation with the anthropological, social and symbolic aspects of Sophocles’ tragedy (as well as its more recent versions like Jean Cocteau’s The Infernal Machine and Elsa Morante’s Evening at Colonus), Womb Tomb will present the spectators with a ground-breaking theatre experience, capable to establish powerful connections on the dangerous edges between past and present, destiny and individual freedom, life and death.
