Buying property (Jakarta)

Hello all,

I've been in Jakarta for a year and a half, and I intend to be here for a while longer. I am not too keen on paying buckets loads of rent over the years to have no return, so I am thinking about buying a small apartment (the one I live in now would be perfect actually). I have done some research and contacted a few people about foreigners buying property in Indonesia and it is all a little incohesive. While, for the most part, the laws are very nationalistic, I have heard that when it comes to apartments the laws on property ownership a a little different. So, my question is this: does anyone have any information, sources, contacts or experience buying an apartment in Jakarta that you might share?
