Negative Associations... (Jakarta)

Dear all,

My friend and I want to start a business in Jakarta selling natural instant seasonings, kerupuk, etc. Since we ultimately also plan to export our products we thought of the name East Indies Indonesia. However, recently some of our friends voiced the concern that this might trigger negative associations with Indonesia's colonial past...

According to our understanding, East Indies only refers to the region of South(-East) Asia. But of course we do not want to offend anyone with our name... So I would like to know from you what comes to your mind when you hear East Indies. Do you associate it with something negative?
