Seeking Primary/Elementary teachers (Jakarta)
Beacon Academy is an established, internationally-focused school in North Jakarta. We teach the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) in Years 1 – 5, the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC) in Years 6 – 8, alongside the Cambridge curriculum and checkpoints for Mathematics, English and Science in Years 1 – 8. In Years 9 – 10 we follow the IGCSE, and we will welcome our first IB Diploma Programme cohort next year into our senior program. Our teaching faculty is a mixture of Indonesian and internationally-sourced teachers, and all of our programs are conducted in English.
We're looking to hear from both experienced expatriate and Indonesian/local Primary/Junior school teachers with the following:
• A tertiary qualification in Primary education
• A high level of English fluency (spoken, written, reading, listening)
• At least five years of full-time, classroom-based teaching experience*
*if you are an expatriate and have less experience we would still like to hear from you, however there is a 5-years experience stipulation in immigration regulation concerning foreign workers
It is desirable but not essential to:
• be familiar with the IPC and Cambridge programs.
• have experience working in a ‘western’, or international, school setting.
We have a few positions to fill, including one that is maternity cover from January through to June in Protected content , all of which will likely be ongoing for qualified, suitable candidates. Although full-time positions are our focus, we will consider part-time arrangements.
Salary and benefits will vary depending on qualifications, experience and suitability.
An appropriate working visa is required for expatriate teachers, and will be arranged by the school at our cost. The costs of acquisition of visa-related documents, such as medical reports and notarisation of documents, will be reimbursed.
If you’re interested then, please, contact me for more details (such as an expanded position description), and to discuss your suitability for, and questions about, a Primary teaching role at our school, at Protected content
You are welcome to include a CV and cover letter too.
