Shipping goods to Indonesia - customs dramas (Jakarta)

Does anyone out there have experience bringing good into Indonesia (they came by boat, from Australia). Specifically, what range of payment were you required to pay for customs and the handling firm here in Jakarta. Ive got just four boxes of personal effects and these guys want to charge me the earth.
