Looking for information abt living in Kingston JA (Jamaica)

Hello everyone!
I've found a job in Kingston, but i don't know what to think about it. My friends and family ( I'm a 28 yo french girl) keep telling me that it is quite dangerous living there and that there's a lot of racism against white people. I'd like to talk to expats living in kingston who could give me more informations!
