Husband moving to Kaust in a week.... (Jeddah)

Hi my name is Stacy, and I'm new to this site. My husband is moving to Kaust in a week, and my daughter and i have to wait for him to get his Iqama till we can join him. Has anyone else here had to deal with this? How did you pass the time or handle the absence? How long did it take till you got to Saudi Arabia? Any advice, help, suggestions would be wonderful. Never been out of the US.
