Newbie coming to Jeddah

Hi folks,

I will be landing in Jeddah soon and had a couple of questions for seasoned Jeddah residents (Jedi's?):

1. Transportation: Buy a new car or used? Looking for something safe for a family of four.
2. Housing: Anybody care to comment on the Arabian homes sierra compound?
3. Things to do and keep the kids busy.
4. If there is one thing you would recommend (anything).
5. Best way to meet people (while avoiding creepy ones!)
