Advise of where to go!!!!!! (Jerusalem)

Hello fellow IN Community members in Tel Aviv.

I and a girlfriend are visiting Isreal at the end of February for a week (7 clear full in Isreal days without traveling back or forth ) and I need some help as to the best plan to have to see the country in such a short time.
I understand that the infrastructure is excellent and that busses, trains etc are a good way to get around. Also that it doesn't take long to get from one place to the other.
I really would appreciate input 'from within' and so I'm requesting help in my planning of this visit of which places to go to, how long is needed there (OK, not an easy one, but we just want to see the main sights and then experience the people and the way of life) and anything you can suggest maybe culturally that is not on the 'normal' tourist trail.
