Advice on areas to live (Johannesburg)

Hi All

My husband and I are moving to J'burg at Easter. The company he is coming with are wanting suggestions of where we might like to live asap.
Do people have any recommendations?

Ideally we would like an area that is:
- not too far to commute each day to Sunnysdie/Richmond (upto half an hour each way)
- relatively mixed area (i,e, not entirely exclusive)
- has a sense of local community, with some shops etc.

Any suggestions?
