Buying and Insuring a Car (Johannesburg)

Hi all! I have lived in Joburg for about 8 months and was renting a car because I had a series of Protected content that didn't make it easy to buy. I now have a ICTP and am considering purchasing a car since renting is so costly. I'm trying to figure out if car insurance is more expensive for expats, and about how much I can expect to pay per month. I will likely be in SA for the next Protected content , so I'm torn on whether to mini-lease or buy. Thanks in advance!
