Is Savoy Estate safe? (Johannesburg)

Dear all

We are finally ready to make the leap. We love a house in the Savoy Estate.

The jury is still out on the safety of the area. I understand there is no such thing as a completely secure area, however, I am definitely interested in knowing if any of you out there think this area is a definite NO NO for a family. Note this is a standalone house and no boom.
