Life in south Africa? (Johannesburg)

Guy's i am moving to south Africa (j'burg) in two month ... i would appreciate your feedback on the country pros and cons( what to do and what to not) and for sure the safety over there ?and recommendation for housing (buying , renting , etc) and recommended areas/ compounds and for sure looking forward to meet new global minds . also i would love to know what is considered a decent salary over to live well and enjoy and save ... and what about cars and prices (used or new) thanks in advance
