My company is developing the world first wave-driven desalination system and we intend to have our commercial pilot in South Africa in 18 months (in partnership with CSIR, DBSA and a municipality). I am exploring the idea of selling bottled water produced by our pilot as a way to make the pilot economical and permanent for the community.
So the idea is, for the pilot only, to leverage our "marketing differentiator" that our water is green, high tech and a source of national pride, to sell bottled water. This business model requires additional partners and we are looking for a distribution partner to evaluate the interest of the business case.
The idea is to make profit (to make it sustainable) but a very important component of it, is the return to the community. It is a social entrepreneurship project. I would appreciate any guidance.
