Moving from Johannesburg to Doha

Hello All,
I am relocating from JHB to Doha. Need some advice of fear of the uknown
What is the day to day ins and outs of Doha living?
What is the expected attire for both male and female?
if you are from SA are there shops similar to a Pick n Pay or Checkers i.e. Groceries
We will be based close to Hamad City and Al Saad/ Al Waab - can you advise on pet friendly accommodation in that area? We are not looking for anything big?
Is there anyone from SA that has moved their pets?
Are there taxi's frequently available?
What is the nightlife like?
Has anyone had any distasteful encounters with regards to being a couple, walking around at night or visiting a mall? (My hubby lived in Saudi for a while, and didn't enjoy it one bit!)

Is there a place or places for haircuts and threading?

Where is there a community of South Africans living in Doha? Is it west bay or the pearl?
I know some of these questions seem pretty basic, however the unknown is daunting and the more boxes we tick the easier this decisions is.
