School curriculum (Johannesburg)

Hi there, I am Ramachandra from India and I will be moving into Jo'burg with family by 1st August, Protected content I have question on the school curriculum for children in RSA, I have read and seen on the various school portals that studying AFRIKAANS will be mandatory for children studying in public or private schools in RSA. I wanted to know if there are any schools which offer other Indian languages say Hindi as the second language. If studying Afrikaans language is compulsory, then wanted to know if children pick up the language easily?
