Kabul social scene, making friends and card game.

Dear all,
My name is Jim and I am currently in Kabul. I must admit that I am bored out of my mind!! :( When I was here 4 years ago, there was always something to do or somewhere to go. There were always good NGO and/or embassy parties, L'Atmosphere, LA Catina, etc... If nothing else, I could always find a group of people to play poker with!! Lol ;) I miss those days...

So all that being said, I'm hoping some of you can help me figure out how to spend my time here in Kabul. Where can I go to socialize and meet people? Are there still some parties once and a while? Are there any poker players around? Basically, I would welcome any and all suggestions which would make my time in Kabul more enjoyable.
