Greets again. Would like to introduce an affordable Savanna park getaway to the enchanted Lake Mburo National Park

2 Day Budget Lake Mburo National Park Getaway Tour

Highlights
This 2 days budget Lake Mburo National Park tour gives you a chance to explore this lovely small savanna park on foot, on a boat and in a vehicle at a relatively affordable price. You only need to drive to or catch a public Bus to Sanga to start the tour from there.

Notes
Lake Mburo NP is the only Ugandan National Park to contain an entire lake. Situated in rolling hills and open grassy valleys the park also consists of four other smaller lakes. The land area of the park is compossed of open and wooded accacia savannah. The park size including the lakes is Protected content .

Much of the land area of the park is acacia tree savannah. The park is home to the largest diversity of both plant and wildlife of all Uganda's national parks. The park is home to herds of Impala, as well as the more uncommon Topi, Eland, and Klipspringer. Burchells Zebra and buffalo also graze these areas. Hippo is very common in the lake where they may be observed from several vantages along the Lakeside Track.

Getting to Sanga
The drive from Kampala should take four to five hours. You will have to alight from Sanga town. Access by public transport would mean alighting a public bus bound from Kampala or Mbarara at Sanga.

Day 1: Afternoon Boat Cruise
You will of course have an early rise depending on where you are. If you in Kampala, taking the Post Bus is advisable. If you are driving your own vehicle, then it is advisable that at-least by 6:30 am, you could be negotiating the early morning traffic in Kampala, so that when you hit the road, you should be in Sanga town in time for a lunch break. You will alight at Sanga and be welcomed by our representative who will help you check in at JKK Sanga Motel. Have lunch before proceeding to the park through Sanga gate. Enter the park and drive to the lakeside at Rwonyo where we shall embark on an afternoon boat cruise. You will view attractive scenery, pools of teeming hippos and an occasional crocodile on the sand banks, buffalo, waterbuck or bushbuck. The likely water-birds will be the African fish eagle and the elusive African finfoot associated with still water below overhanging branches. Drive out of the park and drive to Sanga town. Dinner & overnight at JKK Sanga Motel.

Day 2: Walking safari
Very early breakfast and transfer to the park for an early morning walking safari with an armed ranger. Hyenas are often spotted in the early morning whilst the more common antelope and even hippo can be observed. The Kazuma Hill look out point provides probably the best vantage point to view the rolling hills and grassed valleys and also to see some of the 14 lakes that make up the land mass and surrounding area of the park. Afterwards we shall continue with the vehicle to the Eastern side of the park where they are rocky kopjes where we shall have our picnic lunch. We could actually see another rare antelope, the Klipspringer. We shall transfer you back to the Motel and subsequent end of the tour.
