Living and working in Karachi

Hello everyone,
Just wanted a few thoughts on living and working in Karachi. At the moment am in Muscat and there is a job I am applying for, but a little sceptical .. Is Karachi a safe place to live in??
Any experiences, recommendations, advice that anyone is willing to offer, will be appreciated greatly.
