GO LOCAL - Cooking Class - Aloo Paratha (Kathmandu)

Aloo Paratha is originally/actually made in a 'tandoor' or clay oven just like most other Indian Breads. But, it can also be made at home, either pan-fried or baked in an oven. The home-made version of Aloo Paratha may not be as soft as the 'tandoor' version but it definetly wont drip of butter/ ghee either and yet is equally tasty. Aloo parathas taste best when served immediately from the 'tava’ (Pan/ skillet).

Learn how to cook... this delicious dish at the cooking class at socialtours. We start with learning to shop the ingredients and then go into the cooking bit. The class ends with lunch.

Sakuntala Rokka
Sakuntala has been cooking at the socialtours canteen for several years and if she were not this good, we would not recommend that you come and learn from her. She is also one of the most lively persons in the team, and laughter is not too far away from where she is at any time. A wonderful person to be with and learn from.
