Nepal Situation Update: 05 May 2010. (Kathmandu)
•UCPN-Maoist has continued the indefinite nationwide general strike on the 4th day Wednesday 05 May 10.
•Public and private vehicles were completely halted throughout the country except for; ambulances, dairy, drinking water tankers, press, & blue plated diplomatic mission vehicles.
•Industries, factories, markets, shops, offices, financial and other institutions have been closed across the country.
•The Maoist cadres have assembled around the entrances of Singha Durbar, Kathmandu since this morning & demonstrating.
•CPN-UML Youth Force has started rally protesting against the UCPN-Maoist general strike at Sukuldhoka and Suryabinayak of Bhaktapur.
•Leader of three political parties have continued series of meeting seeking solutions of current agitation to end political deadlock, the meeting scheduled to hold at Protected content today 5 May.
•Civil Society activists have urged the UCPN-Maoist to call off its general strike and re-engage in constitution writing process. –Wednesday 5 May 10.
