Visiting Kathmandu

I will be arriving in Kathmandu in the morning (July 22nd). I am coming from India, and it will be my first time in Nepal. I will be there till Sunday for a vacation from working in Delhi. I know it's a short trip, but does anyone have any recommendations of things to do, places that I must visit/see, events that might be going on while I am there, etc? Also, is anyone else going to be wondering around visiting this weekend that might want to meet up?
