visiting nepal! (Kathmandu)

hey everyone!

i am just booked (literally) a 7 day trip to nepal from december 29 to january 5. i haven't got an itinerary yet, though i've got my sights on staying in kathmandu, pokhara and chitwan. i welcome any suggestions to other really worthwhile town/places to visit or spend the night at.

also, where's the party at on new year's eve? is it better to spend it in kathmandu itself or in pokhara? it will be brilliant to be able to meet up with any expats living in nepal!
