Driving with foreign licence plates (Kyiv)

Hi Internations friends,

Greetings from snowy Sofia!

I am moving to work/live in Kiev in the end of the month and I want to take my car there.

I understood it's not the best idea to register it in UKR, but to drive it with the foreign plates and then reenter the country every 2/3 months (not sure 2 or 3??).

Is it possible to have a local KASKO insurance for such a car that will cover auto theft? My local insurance unfortunately does not cover the former Russian states.
Which companies would you recommend?
