Visit Kiev 23rd October for a week (Kyiv)

Hi everyone
I will be coming to Kiev for a week in 23rd Oct and will be staying for a week. Is there going to be an internations meetup that week? If so that would be great.

Secondly I will be staying for touristic reasons, planning to see Kiev and the major historic sights possible to see with daytrips.

Thirdly I want to see what the city and in particular what the university life is like. Not to study undergrad (done that already), but maybe do a semester during the doctorate there.
Any recommendations ?
